Crash Test Rating for 98-01 XK8

Just bought one and have been on the internet hunting for any info and no luck.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Joyce

Joyce,
Your question got me curious. The NTSA website containing crash test data has only
Jaguar X-type tests. Nothing else!

You have to crash one to test it. I'm guessing when the NTSA saw what the XKs look like, they didn't have the heart to crash one.

LOL, I agree.

But I have searched all the forums for Jag lovers and someone asked the same question back in 2005 and no one answered, so I think it's safe to say the safety rating and crash test are not on-line, going into Alpine jag here in Fort Lauderdale tomorrow and will try to get some info from them. I will post what I get!

Thanks for searching! I hope to get some answers from the service tech tomorrow and I will post the info, if any!

Spoke with service tech and he has no idea if there is a crash test or safety test for the 98 xk8. So no luck there.

Hi Joyce,

Wow, I am amazed that there is nothing, nada, zip on the internet regarding the crash test data for your 1998 XK8 or any of the XK models that I could find either. I thought it was a safe car, but now have no data backing up why I thought that! If you find anything, please let us know.

Hi Kelsey,
I think I am not looking hard enough, but a lot of my friends thinks it's because it's a convertible, but I could not find data on a coupe either. So I just emailed a really nice guy in England and I hope he has some insight.

Are you sure you want to know?

In a way I really don't!!!
Kinda scared to find out but I have researched everything about this car and this data is all I am missing.
