Default Did my calipers also

After putting the new wheels on my XK8 I realized the calipers would
look better red.
So here you go!

I did my calipers red a few years ago and bought the jaguar lettering on top and before the clearcoat layers. It's too bad it's so hard to keep them clean save for taking off the wheels. But your red calpers look great against your body color.

Tberg, your comments on keeping them clean let me know not to go to a bunch of trouble with letters.
Saved me the hassle.

Thanks. Wayne

Looks very nice.

Did you paint them in place or pull the calipers off?

Looks like a neat job Great work. I've posted on this and will be doing mine this late fall, I'm going to pull calipers, rebuild and flush all brake fluid at the same time and didn't want to be down over the good weather. This just pumps me up to get it done thanks !

Jag#4, I did them in the car, by that I mean the hose was connected. Use a screwdriver to pry the pads back a bit. The mount came out and was painted hanging up, not really necessary, as most of it is behind the dust plate. I removed the bleed cap and disconnected the ABS and used masking tape with paper and old towels laying on all the suspension parts and rotor. Lay a old sheet or something on the car, just to keep over spray off. I sat the piston part on a board and rest it on the top of the rotor, it leaves lots of room to paint all around and the piston part will not be painted, doesn't show in any case. Let it dry completely and have a touch up brush ready because you are going to take paint off when you put the wire clips on, if you don't, please give me the secret.
Now after all that, you can just buy the kid that uses a small paint brush and leave everything in place.LOL
Oh, remember to pump your brakes before putting it in gear, it could get real exciting real quick.
