Surprised to find it is low mass aluminum.

 

You'll be even more surprised if a UJ fails to find it's a non serviceable item. No circlips. It has what I believe is called a 'Hookes Joint' at the differential end.

The rubber Jurid Coupling at the transmission end is the only serviceable item.

I think you are mixing up driveshaft and prop shaft. my driveshafts are definitely steel

 

In the US, "propshaft" isn't a word associated with cars anymore... like "boot" or "bonnet".

The driveshaft goes from the motor to the third member, "half-shafts" go from the third member to the hubs.

 

Even JTIS had stopped using the term 'prop shaft' and it was last updated ten years ago:
