ECU capacitors replacement killed my car
Hi guys, have any of you experienced problems after leaking capacitors in ECU being replaced? I gave away my ECU to what supposed to be a professional service and after I installed the ECU back in the car, the whole dashboard looks like a freaking Christmas tree! Plenty of errors and warning, even the gearbox is blocked now. I will be returning the ECU to the service as I see the message WRONG PART FITTED - maybe the capcitors are not the same spec as the oryginal ones. I tried hard reset but that didn’t work. Any one of you experienced anything similar? Daniel XK8 ‘97 4.0 / Coupe |
Did you disconnect the battery and discharge the system by touching neg. lead to positive before removing the ECU and was the battery disconnected when you replaced the ECU? Did you fully charge the battery before reconnecting the ECU?
If yes to all, it's probably a fault of the service. |
The ECM may have lost ALL memory and now needs to be configured as a NEW PART??
It's worth a try to get it configured to the car, maybe as NEW. bob |
Have they definitely sent you the same ECU back?
