Emissions Faliure & OBD compatabilty

Hi all, my XK8 failed it's MOT on emissions yesterday

C02 3.683%
HC 247
Lambda 0.893

From reading various threads on the issue it looks like an OBD key and software is going to be required to diagnose this, but i have read UK spec '96 XK8s are not fully OBD compatible. I have a code reader which I plugged in and it seamed to work.

So can anyone confirm if a OBD key and software (Torque or similar) will work for diagnostics and not just at code reading, before I go and buy one.

Thanks

My 97 is fully OBD compatible - I use Torque and a PLX Kiwi Bluetooth adapter with no problems.

If you have a code reader - what codes did you get ? (If any ??)

I did not get any codes; so I am starting from scratch

Likely OBD-compliant.

Watch status to see if it even goes CL (closed loop) once warmed up, then watch fuel trims. Something's horribly wrong and with those values may damage the cat(s) quickly if that hasn't already happened.

Thanks all, I have ordered Bluetooth OBD to see what's going on.

The Cats are new so I hope they are not faulty
