A couple of weeks ago, my 2002 XKR with 140,000 miles on it was not running very well. Upon brisk acceleration, it would seem to stumble a bit with a faint "popping" sound. It wasn't too noticeable just driving around town, but bothered me. I suspected (hoped) it was bad plugs or wires and headed to my mechanic. After plugging in a code reader. the culprit was identified as a bad fuel injector and a bad cam sensor. Both were fixed and the car is running better. In the past 10 days I have had to drive up to the Pismo Beach area as well as to Delano almost every day, and I have put nearly 3000 miles on the car during that time, top down, beautiful weather, beautiful ocean view ride (most of the way to Pismo).
What a joy to drive!

Good to hear you got the "popping" fixed and that sounds a great daily drive in the sunshine.

Testpoint,
Whereas I've been known to "fudge" the speed limit on long drives into the 90's, I was actually quite content at the 70-75mph range enjoying the cool, early morning air on the way up and the afternoon sunshine on the way home. The 3 hour drive in each direction was actually enjoyable. I seem to gravitate toward "arresting" red cars that can get me in trouble in a hurry, including my other "cat," the Pantera, a red '58 Corvette, and a burgundy '78 280Z. I guess I like tempting fate.

After scrapping the ice and snow off the windshield this morning, (Chicago had white out conditions) you guys are making me jealous. My cat hasn't seen daylight since November. Hopefully this will end soon.

RCSign,
While the rest of the country was suffering the worst winter in memory, we in Southern California, outside of 3 days of rain last week (the first in nearly a year), have had 80 degree weather through most of Dec-March. I have my top down even in 40-50 degree weather, but this year there's just been no suffering at all. No hibernation here!
