I've noticed when I have the top down, a faint noise when the trans shifts in the first couple gears. Its a really quiet zipper-ish sound for about 2 seconds right before it shifts to the next gear. I can't feel anything in the car and it drives like silk except for this. I may be paranoid but this car has been one issue after another. I'd like to get ahead of bigger problems.
Any ideas? or is it even an issue!!

 

Well you can always make sure you performed every service, but you sound like the kind of guy who is very meticulous about this. So you could try a transmission service, throttle service and an adaption reset... just an idea... But that is only you don't mind throwing money at it...

 

My mechanic says I'm too obsessive compulsive with it. He drove it two days while he worked on the first round of repairs and says it's nothing to be worried about. He said after all the car's 11 years old and will make a few noises!! Since he specializes in Jaguars, I may differ to his opinion!!
And, yeah, I'm getting tired of throwing money at this car since I've only had a month!!
The AC is next and my new stereo. I'll just turn it up to not hear the noise! LOL
