flash code 22 fixed and question about driver's side seat wiring harness
2003 XKR with 101,000 miles.
I've had an intermittent flash code 22 ever since I had my seats reupholstered; from what I found on this site this is associated with the driver's side-curtain airbag.
Recently it was not going away so I pulled the drivers side seat and found a frayed wire going to a yellow connector.
I cut the wire, soldered it back together and used heat-shrink for insulation and protection and the flash code 22 went away. Success!
The attached photo was shot from under the seat and shows the connector and the wire that was frayed.
There was little strain relief for the two wires going to what presumably is the connector to the driver's side-curtain airbag which no doubt caused the wire to fray with any seat movement.
In the attached photo we can see a gray plastic conical looking thing and a metal band of some sort attached to the wiring harness; are these for strain relief? If so, does anyone know to where and how they are to be affixed?

This is my 2005 XK8 (RHD) with the driver's seat removed showing the same grey plastic component the two yellow harness connectors:
I just reassembled everything in the reverse of the removal procedure which included clipping the harness back onto the seat frame so it moved with the seat and didn't get trapped.
