And how do you know where the positive side is on the instrument cluster?

I used those same bulbs and still had to do the trial and error method.

Glad you got there

If that fuse pops again, report back here before you replace it.

when I was reading upon the forum before changing my instrument bulbs i read where the neg. was on the lower side. I can’t look it up now, but perhaps the wiring diagrams and an ohm meter would be good guidence.

you have my best wishes on troubleshooting your issue.

99% of the electrical problems I read about on this forum are so far above my abilities that I cringe when wondering what I would do in like circumstances.

Thanks again Michael and will do. I was admittedly at fault using the LED(I'm clearly not an electronic wizard) and I've learned that as voltage decreases(ala 12v), LED's will draw more amperage apparently so I'm guessing that's what created the issue(??) so fingers crossed the circuit remains stable. And again we're birds of a feather (97 w/38K) and I must say that although the racing green is classic, that sapphire blue is gorgeous..a bit jealous on that score. Well drive it in good health, (and nicer driving weather coming to us all I'm sure).

Cheers , Daveyj
