beautiful day in the Low Country - sun shining and time for some light maintenance! Nearing 125K, decided to order new coils last week (just over $300 for 8) so today put in new plugs and coils, K&N ait filter I bought last year finally and then dropped the top for a nice drive!

Does it run more sweetly now?

It should do because those plugs look well past their sell by date. :icon_lol:

and they were replaced about a year ago :icon_redface:

Really! They do look rough for being only a year old, maybe it's the pic?

It was a great day in North Carolina too!! We had our Carolina Jaguar Club meeting yesterday. Couldn't have been more beautiful! Attachment 76266

nice, just one question - what's the top doing up????

Norri - no, they were rough which surprised me as I've only put on about 16k miles since I changed them last. Initially, I hadn't planned on replacing the plugs but figured with new coils going in why not. Glad I did, hopefully the Bosch will hold up better than the denso's.

Wow Phil,
You guys get a great turnout. We can't seem to put a group together except for the Queen's English Car Show once a year.

91 degrees in the San Fernando Valley, yesterday, almost too warm, but beautiful, top down weather.

Took advantage of mild, clear weather yesterday and did an oil & filter change / wheel speed sensors scrubbing / tire rotation (essentially the 80,000-mile service) on my wife's XK8. Thought I might have to put the new brake pads on (I've had them for almost a year now), but it looks as if the current pads on both axles should last at least until the next service interval 6,000 miles from now. I was pleasantly surprised....

More rain and potential freezing rain later today and for the next couple of days, so I'm glad I went ahead and knocked out my routine maintenance punch list for this car....

There were about 30-40 members there but they did talk about the drop in membership as one member passed away which I see as a comment on the age of our members. I dare say I was probably the youngest member there, 48 years old. And probably by 10-15 years. It's a shame we can't get younger members but frankly, the events are geared toward older even retired members.
They also seem to be purist that aren't huge fans of more inventive modifications although there were a couple. And it was brought up that our club website needed more attention and frankly, I think it's dated and stodgy. In this day, it should be modern and exciting to reach a younger group. Even maybe have a second category member group, more focused on younger age.
