How far should radio antenna extend?

Morning Chaps,

I get poor ( but usable ) radio reception in my '98 XK8, so I was wondering if the antenna is fully extending.

How far should it come up? My goes up by about a foot, which doesn't seem long enough to me.

It should be about 3 feet. Try lubricating at the same time as using a bit of manual persuasion.
If it is still stuck it is a relatively easy job to change for a new one.

A bit of WD-40 mixed with Viagra is guaranteed to make it extend even further!

Best wishes to all for the New Year. :icon_beerchug:

This is the aerial fully extended on my 2001 XK8:

Attachment 123351

I usually pull the fuse over the Winter with the aerial fully retracted to stop it seizing with road dirt/salt and it makes little difference to radio reception!
