Jaguar PDU

I am trying to test my steeo system as The sound just isn't there. I would swear that the rear speakers aren't working. I have the premium system, and the manual says I can test all except the head unit with the PDU. Is this dealer only? I'd love to find a simple test before tearing the whole car apart.

Hello Rick:
Would we be correct in assuming that you have already adjusted the rear subwoofers to the desired level on your head unit? I normally leave them off or at a very low level (at my age, I don't go in for much "Boom Boom"--LOL !)
If the subwoofers do need replacing, you will get maximum power transfer by using 2 ohm speakers to match the 2 ohm output impedance. I am sure others will kick in their suggestions if replacements are needed. Good luck.

There was a great writeup on the History of Jaguar Diagnostic machines.
JDS, PDU, WDS, IDS, SDD on this forum YEARS AGO. I forget who wrote it.

The PDU is a DINOSAUR. I have not seen a working unit in about a decade.
1988 to 1994 require that unit but later cars can use later machines (WDS onward).

Forget the PDU.

There are HUNDREDS of TSBs for all sorts of things about your car in the large file download area.

Does this mean that the later diagnostics will also test the amp, speakers, and subwoofers?
