jaguar xk8 gearbox fault
 

hi there ive been experencing gear box problems with my xk8 its stuck in 4th gear and wont budge it will go into reverse but has a terible clunking noice when it does its done 100,000 miles if you have any suggestions on what it could be please could you get back to me thanks.

are you getting any codes? What year is the vehicle? Could be anything from a solenoid/pressure regulator to a faulty switch.

no have not connected to a fault reader will do so tomorrow hopfully
this afternoon the gear box started to work ok for 20mins then faults started to occur started to jerk when put in to reverse of forward and at one time reverse was selected at gear lever but not in gear let car roll 2 or 3 inches and car jerked into gear
the car is a non supercharged

i now this my seem odd but i think the fault start when the car is in a righthand turn????
