Leak Issues

On a 2000 XKR where is the thermostat and housing? Also off the firewall, there are a couple of hoses than run into some sort of junction with other hoses. What is at that location? Where do leaks most often occur in this car? How big a job is it to replace all the hoses in this car and do Jag hoses from that time period last an average length of time or above average. What is the best part sourcing for Jag water hoses?

Thanks

Uhh, thermostat housing is front and center between the radiator and motor, on top...easiest part to get to on the car.

The mess of hoses back behind the engine, under the throttle body, that's the heater hose assembly, also known as the octopus. It is connected to at least four pipes, maybe five, I can't remember.

Leaks...the thermostat housing, expansion tank (coolant reservoir), that heater hose I was talking about also, and top radiator hoses (weak on the earlier cars, if there's a bulge, replace it). I've changed them all due to leaks, and mine is 3 years newer than yours. Most of the time, the heater hose assembly leaks at the stupid NORMA connectors.

I purchase all my hoses from the dealer, but earlier model hoses can be had on websites. Get the part number from the FAQ thread link that has the parts diagrams, and start googlin.
