Leaking fuel line/hose

Hello, new to the forum. I have a 2004 XK8 4.2. I had a fuel leak this morning from the metal part, not sure if it is a pressure relief valve? Turned the car off, let it stop dripping, pushed in the hoses around it to make sure they were tight, turned the car back on and it was no longer leaking. Could this have been from debris? Also, does anyone know the exact name or part number of this line and the metal part in the middle? Nothing is coming up when I search the part number marked on it. Thank you so much in advance! Also, I know the shock mounts need replaced, getting that done next week!

Also, one more thing. The hoses around it did not seem to move at all when I pushed on them so it did not seem as though they were loose at all

Those lines lock in, like A/C lines. Your upper shock mounts are shot. Wayne Tate (cjd777) can supply high quality mounts. You do mot have enough posts to send a private message, but do a search for his name and you can contact him on this site.

Ok great, thank you, I’ll check them again to make sure they are properly connected. Do you happen to know what the metal part is that I have a close up of?

I actually have a set of the Peter Hobman shock mounts, just waiting on my appointment to get them on

The 2nd pic shows a round fuel pressure damper. There is a nylon line in and nylon out fuel route. They are just put on hot and then shrink to form a tight seal. Ford has used this method for many years. The heating the nylon line is a trick and not just anyone can perform it. I tried and failed on a Mustang fuel rail. If the lines leaked, the unit is probably good. If the unit leaked, the diaphragm is shot. Hope the replacement mounts are as durable as Wayne's. Do Overs are not fun. :icon_beerchug:

Thank you so much, that is very helpful. I’ll keep an eye on things and all of this gives me so much more information to go on. Do you think this leak could be indicative of any other problems, or most likely just an isolated problem with those parts?

One last thing: Is this a fuel supply line, return line, or something else?

The 4.2 X100 uses a RETURNLESS SYSTEM.
A PWM controlled fuel pump speeds up and slows down to maintain optimum fuel pressure.

Oh ok I didn’t realize that, thank you!
