Must we use Volvo replacement bulbs?
 

Our Milwaukee West Suburban Jag dealer told me they had no JAG instrument panel bulbs for the 2005 XKR I have, and so they replaced one for the auto climate control with a cross-referenced Volvo part which shines a light yellow-green shade to the LED readout panel for temperature. The ext light next to it is also the same color.


All the rest of my instrument cluster bulbs are a nice turquoise blue. Today I was trying out my new battery install of yesterday and noticed the light bulb on the left of the Tachometer is out. After dark I cannot see anything but the orange needle on the left side where the bulb is out.


Can someone tell me a source to order the proper turquoise blue bulbs from? The Jag dealer claimed they were no longer available from Jag USA.

As far as I know and have also read on the forum, there are no "tinted" bulbs, all bulbs are clear and the color is via the instrument panel etc. replacement bulbs for the instrument panel and other cluster backlighting are BP161, available at amazon.

That's baloney about the instrument bulbs not being available. I recently ordered 4 of the larger bulbs with holders for the instrument cluster as well as 4 of the smaller bulbs for the warning lights. If you search under my posts and/or instrument bulb replacement you will find the part numbers listed.

The Jaguar OEM replacements for the LARGER bulbs, including the holders, is LJA4390BA and the part number for the smaller ones is XR83865.

These are in the neighborhood of $6 each and you can order from SNG Barratt or just go to your local Jaguar dealer as these are commonly in stock.
