New 2012 XK Body A Successor To Our 96-06 XK8/XKR Body?
Ok we all know most people prefer the looks of the 96-06 XK8 / XKR over the 07-11 XK8/XKR. I personally think the 96-06 XK8/XKR X100 Body is better looking then the 07-11 XK/XKR. Of course Jaguar updated the styling for the 2012 XK/XKR X150 Body. Far as looks concerned is the 2012 XK/XKR/XKR-S a Successor to the X100 Body Style ?

I don't know about that. It really just looks like a ricefied evolution of the previous body style. And I recall when the previous body style came out, the consensus was mostly that the style kind of "grew" on you. When the XK8/XKR first came out, it was instantly acknowledged as beautiful and it didn't take any time at all for the style to "grow" for people.

I think the looks of the 00-06 XKR is better than the 07-11 XKR. However the 2012 XKR update styling of the X150 is Gorgeous. Everybody has there own opinion the X100 will always be my favorite body style of the XK series. But the classic Jaguar styling is the best and it appears in the 2012 XK X150 styling update.

I thought this was going to be the 2013 re-design, but haven't seen anything lately to confirm that. The front of the XK's was made taller in '07 to conform with a new European regulation concerning pedestrian impact, so it's here to stay. The design below seems to conform with the reg also. I was a bit excited when I first saw this re-design, but now not so much. Guess it didn't grow on me.

granted, it's an improvement over the '07 model, but it still looks too much like an aston for my taste. the e-type body style, and subsequently the '96-'06 xk8/xkr, will always be the definitive look for the jaguar sport model; though the xjs was nice too. i didn't however know that the raised nose, which is one of the major changes that left it looking like an aston in my mind, was due to a new european ped impact regulation. just another way the world is trying to force art to be ugly. ;-)
