New seats?

I posted this on the "interior" section, and thought I would post it here as well, since it applies to and xk8. I am thinking about replacing the leather seat covers in my 2003 xk8, as they are cracked pretty bad. I found a place that will custom make them out of leather for $650.00, but that seems a bit cheap, and I am leery. Has anyone heard of, or had products from: JosephinaCustomTops.

I priced a set of new leather covers for my '99 xk8 seats from the dealer about two years ago - $850. $650 was what was quoted by a shop in Dallas that recovers some
high-end used cars for local dealers.

The trick is to match the original leather and color. There is a company that sells these rolls of leathers to upholsterers. The local shop found the exact match.

Put a deposit on a recover about a year ago, haven't done it yet. My older Jag just got pummeled in a hailstorm here in Dallas. $5,000 in damage. Oops.

That sucks! Sorry to hear that. I'm guessing that $5000 in damage on an older Jag is probably enough to total it.

Depending on what Jag it is. A nice XKE wouldn't come close where a older XJ series might.

Cracked seats were an eyesore on my driver's side also...we've got a good thread on some options HERE...take a gander!

I am looking at repairing a seat, too. The auto upholstery shop quoted $250 - $400 just to replace some leather and stitch it into the seat. If the seats were worse, then it is worth it to replace the whole thing.
