Default Official ZF parts catalog 5HP24 transmisson

Here is a pdf version of the ZF parts catalog for the ZF 5HP24 transmission used in the 97-02 XK8:

http://www.e38.org/ZF_5HP24_Spare_Parts.pdf

Also, a few bits of information:

Dry capacity of transmission, not including radiator and lines = 10 liters
Routine fluid change capacity is 5 to 6 liters.
ZF recommends fluid be changed every 8 years regardless of mileage. I have also read every 60k miles as a recommendation.

I have also read the following:
Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF meets the original Esso requirements specified by ZF. Mobil owns Esso. ZF Lifeguard 5 is just rebadged Mobil tranny fluid. Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF is cheaper.

Thanks for the link... just curious why it doesn't list the 2000 - 2002 xk8 on page 2?!? I do believe that is the transmission I have in my car...

Default You are correct

Yes, that is my understanding as well. Jag used the 5HP24 for all 4.0 engines, i.e. 96 - 02. When they went to the 4.2 in 03 they switched to the 6 speed.
