part number for rubber cones on rear seat ??
Anyone know the part number for the rubber cones on the rear seat bottom cushion bolts. They cover the threads of the bolts.
Mine were lost at the place when they installed a new top. |
This the bolt cover you mean?

Why the need to cover these bottom bolts?
If you need to cover these bottom rear seat fixing bolts, that must mean you actually have passengers in the back! And they fit! Wow!
As the bolts are not visible, I suspect any old cover will do. Would old tyre valve covers work? Elsewhere I’ve used denso duct tape before, cut wine corks, and pencil erasers, to protect against sharp edges. |
Yes that is the bolt. I will go to a wrecker for the covers. I went to a top notch auto top guy and he loses these and then says they were never there. I know they were there as I have been all through this car.

I no longer have an XK8 to be able to compare but are these ones on the shock absorbers the same size?

no, but thanks
they are small and very pliable |
They are small vinyl caps so any 'cap' will work. I usually just find them on the rear floor when I work on the XKs.
The tiny black rubber vacuum caps will also work. bob |
You can also try a bit of electrical tube shrink wrap. Dead easy. Slip it on. Heat it up. On and fixed, till you need to pull it off.

The last time I looked they had them at Home Depot and Lowes.
