I have a stock 2000 xk8, and its always been my dream to put fender flares on it. When I went to the long beach grand prix about 6 years ago they had a xk8 with a widebody on it.
My bosses' husband works for cosworth, but he could not find me any info regarding the trans-am xk cars.
I've already talked to a few race welding shops, and I went to a SEMA vendor. Once I know what they look like I think I can build them. (clay, then fiberglass them) For a little extra I've already talked to people that can skin them with carbon fiber.
Does anyone have/know where I can find pics of the race car version?
Edit: my mantra is and always will be, dont do anything custom that cant just be unbolted and put back to stock. So these flares will be held with sealant and bolted on the undercarriage.

Here you go, actually quite easy to do but I would go the 'do it all in steel route', it will cost you a fortune any other way
I am actually going to paint my track car similar to this, same 2 tone effect but with silver and slate pearl, I already have the large leaper graphic to go on

Not quite the race look, but definitely more road legal...
Disregard the interior!

Although RSR is more recently known for fielding a ALMS GT2 version of the new XK they still campaign and build the older XK for TransAm: here is the link:
