FIXED!

I've had a problem with the powerfold nearside mirror for years but just lived with it but having to change the mirror glass on the other one has made me decide to try and fix it.

The problem is that the mirror will fold in correctly but when I want it to fold back out it keeps going forwards way beyond the correct position and needs to be manually folded back to the correct position. It feels like a "stop ratchet" or some such part has failed. I read somewhere that this is a common problem and that there is a relatively inexpensive fix but couldn't track it down.

Anyone have any experience and fixed it short of a new mirror assembly?
