Default rear seat removal

Has anyone removed the back seat? Any tricks you can share? I did a search and didn't find anything. I am installing a new head unit and need to run wiring to the trunk underneath the seat.

Thanks

You might try a search on rear speaker replacement. I cannot remember the poster's name, but he had a very detailed, step-by-step procedure outlined.

Rear seat removal is pretty easy. First you need to undo 2 nuts under the seat cushion (circled in the attached pic). This will allow you to remove the cushion. After that you will see 2 screws that hold the seat back. Undo them and slide the back up.

JagxkFan has shown you the seat cushion fixings.

The rear seat back is secured by two screws (LH arrowed in red). Once these have been removed, lift it upwards to clear the two brackets at the top (LH arrowed in yellow).

There is no direct route through the bulkhead into the luggage compartment as the fuel tank is directly behind it.

The easiest route for wiring is either though the hole for the parcel shelf speaker (if you don't have the premium sound system) or follow the black harness for the third brake light through a small round hole under the parcel shelf directly into the luggage compartment.
