Hey Guys,
While visiting my car at the dealership a few weeks ago (car has been in for 6 weeks from hitting a rock) I noticed that one of the headlights was fogged.
I asked the service technician about it and he said that there was a Jaguar Fix Recommendation to drill a vent hole and install a vent line at a cost of couple of hundred dollars.
Today when they called to give me a status update on the car the service writer informed me that the headlight fix, was now a recall item, and that they had done the modification under warranty.
I was curious if anyone else had heard of this, or if something unscrupulous was pandered by the dealership.

That fix has been around for awhile and people that have done it have experienced mixed results. I think it depends on how much of the original lense seal has been compromised.
It's interesting that they have now made it a service action and good to know for future reference.

I had heard of the fix, but didn't realize the dealer was making the 'fix' under warranty. Interesting, but I just 'vented' the headlight myself and haven't had any problem in over a year.

Could you provide a pic? I would like to do this on both my headlights. I noticed mine got a little worse after I had the front bumper changed out.

2000- XK8 I have trouble with passenger seat adjustment. For a while I could hear motor, but not get it to move either up and down or make a back seat adjustment. The other day, everything worked. Since the dealer just wanted to replace the motor, I gave up. Now, today, nothing happens when I push any button. When I look under the seat by using a flashlight and looking under, nothing seems loose. I jiggle and still nothing. any ideas?

Bonnieberson, just wanted to let you know that you posted your question under a thread about moisture in a headlamp lens. Have no fear, just need to post a NEW topic in the XK8 forum. Welcome by the way!
