Default Release XK8 roof manually - problems

2000 XK prepped and ready to install new hydraulic lines to pump for convertible roof. Received the infamous green shower - well almost. Fluid welled up inside map light lenses. Thankfully, no stains or residual damage from fluid.
I'm having some trouble getting the top to go down manually. Any advise would be welcomed. I have it unlatched but I don't want to force it open. Thoughts......

You need to release the rams and this procedure will help understand the process.

It worked. I had to gently finesse them down but they did finally give way and the roof just collapsed like it should. These cars are really tricky! Thank you Sir!
