repair to passenger floorpan
Although I try to carry out most repairs and servicing myself, not having a garage I can fit the Jag in and a mig welder to hand, I used a welder who was recommended to me. He had it for about 3.5 hours in total, I'm pretty happy with the result(the useless plate that Jaguar had inflicted on us had rotted a 3" hole in the pan).
I did remove the seat and pulled back the carpets for access myself, I didn't need to remove the centre consul as he plated it from underneath.

Nice job, MOT should be not trouble. Do you use undercoat anymore in England? We have had MG's and Triumph's where the undercoat was cracking and holding water underneath it. Rusted out many a tail light section on 4's and 6's. I guess it's still a good idea, just need to redo after 40 years or so. LOL

Over here on the other side of the pond we use salt on the roads in winter, combined with the ever present rain, this then rusts between the spot welded plate and the floor pan which then rots through. Jaguar thoughtfully doesn't provide even basic underseal protection to this plate so after a few years we get this problem, particularly in the UK. Ah well, at least it isn't the most difficult or expensive job to put right!
