Road Trip in 2000 XKR Roadster

My wife and I left Dallas 10 days ago on a trip to West Texas, and New Mexico. It has been extremely hot here this year. More than 60 days over 100 fahrenheit. I have owned this car for 9 years and it has been very dependable. Motorman maintains it. So far it has run flawlessly. No problems at all for 1500 miles in very hot weather. We will drive about 4000 miles total. The area around Santa Fe and Taos New Mexico, and the Four Corners Area are road trip heaven. Top down all the time except for the usual shower around 4:00 PM. I have seen few European cars and no Jags since I left Texas. Anyway wanted to leave a positive note to All.

Thanks, have a blast. My road trip starts next Wednesday for 2500 miles.

Great pics and update!!!
I'll never forget your wife's first question to me "Are you in the witness protection program???" because I live in a very rural part of Wise County Texas. I still tell that story to some of my customers!!

Thanks.

Back in Texas!

Well we are back home after 2643 trouble free miles on our road trip to New Mexico and the 4 corners area. I posted the final Photos at MobileMe Gallery
I averaged 23.6 miles MPG, and used 1/2 qt of oil. I highly recommend the Southwestern part of the US for a car trip. This is the West of our imagination. You can do many great day trips from Taos including The Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. The drought in Texas has been very hard, and the High Plains of West Texas are really parched. We had 40 days straight over 100 degrees in Dallas this year. It was quite warm in Taos which is at 7200 ft elevation this year. Thanks All.
