Saved over £700 in one week of being a Forum member!
Guys
Just wanted to say a big thank you to all who offered their advice and assistance this week. All the tips were very useful as-well as the very helpful videos. To cut a long story short I had a health check done on my XKR whilst I had new tyres fitted. The main dealer identified a number of electrical glitches and of course wanted to charge top price to rectify them. As a result of following the guidance I now have them all sorted with one more to go and have saved over £700 so far! As my wife said 'that's the price of another holiday!"

Very good of you to say so Phil and very glad that the forum has helped you keep hold of your hard earned.
It's easier though to click on the thanks button in the bottom right hand corner of a post that has helped you resolve any issues.
Happy motoring and next time tell the wife we only saved you a tenner.

Phil,
I've moved your thread from New Member Area - Intro a MUST to XK8/XKR forum as I'd expect this is where you found most of the money saving guidance for your model.
Always good to hear this kind of comment which is a reflection on the friendly, helpful and knowledgeable membership.

Good to hear you have also saved on repair costs.
Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Maybe the main Jag dealers are already using the forum!
I know that I have saved in the region of $1500 myself using this forum, and the longer I keep the XK8, the more I will save.
It is due to this forum that I can afford (well, sort of) a XK8. Without the forum, I will have to sell the car!
Thanks to everyone that contributes to this forum!!

Well I'm 54 but not so sure about being mature! Enjoy the rest of the summer in the Jag!

Thanks on behalf of all members to the OP for originating this thread, and also to the many members who have contributed.
It is without doubt due to the excellent members who participate and the mod team /RC's who all play their part in helping to make this site what it is.
I'm so glad you've saved ££££ or $$$$ whatever the case may be, I myself have also benefitted and hope to continue to do so.

Even though I've owned several Jags (and other British cars) in the past I did a lot of research here before committing to buying an XK8. I had to convince myself I could afford the upkeep by doing at least some of the mandatory future repairs myself. I did much of the work myself on my older Jags but they were simpler for the most part.
