Shock confusion

I posted another thread regarding my new front shocks and springs. The distance from the wheel centers to top of the wheel arch is about 17". Should be 15.75". I have been in contact with the VP of sales for Lesjofors, the coil spring manufacturer and he has been very helpful trying to solve this mystery. He has even had the lead engineer at the factory in Sweden get involved. I am starting to question the shocks. The P/N on the old shocks is MJA 2141PH, according to the parts list on this website, it should be
MJB 2140EB, and according to the Bilstein brochure, it should be F4-BE5-6726-HO, which are the ones I installed. I don't know if these shocks have different piston lengths, or are all the same. Any thoughts?

The shock won't make a difference will it?
What springs did you install?

Dr. I've got a pair of used front Springs sitting in my garage. If there is any benefit measuring them for unloaded height just ask.

shock confusion

The only difference would be the location of the coil spring lower mounting point on the shock ( that little ridge on the shock). On the original shocks I took out, the distance from the center of the lower shock bushing to that ridge is about 12" (MJA 2141 PH) , on the new shocks that distance is about 11" (BE5-6726), so actually the coil spring is being supported an inch lower than the original, so everything should be sitting lower ?? I kept one of the old shocks and springs just in case. Also, the new coil is about 1" taller than the old. I did confirm that I have the correct springs, based on the part number laser etched on the coil.

Hi dr fixit.

Anything new to report on your ride height situation?
