Steering Wheel Drop Down

On my XK8, each new day the steering wheel must be coaxed down by pressing the saved setting 3 or more times. Once a new day has been started the steering wheel automatically drops to it's last position for the rest of the day. Is there some setting that can be changed that will cause the steering wheel to always return to its last setting?

Thanks!![8D]

YOU ARE AWARE YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE MEMORY POSITION 1 OR 2(WHATEVER YOURE SETUP ON) TILL IT STOPS MOVING ON XK'S..BUT IF YOUR TALKING ABOUT THE AUTO FEATURE FOR EASY ENTRY EXIT, THEN MOVE THE JOY STICK ON THE SIDE OF COLUMN FOR THE TILTUP AND DOWN QUICKLY TO CLEAN THE INTERNAL SWITCH CONTACTS, AND THAT SHOULD FIX IT FOR YOU. THEY JUST BUILD UP DIRT, CORROSION FROM LACK OF USE

Hi

My XKR does this if I have not used it for a while.

If what the other guy says does not work you may have a slight battery drain, or your battery may be on the way out, which would account for it working OK for the rest of the day once the battery has had a boost

I've been systematically hitting my switches, etc. with contact cleaner. They are pretty easy toease apart and I've saved hundreds of dollars by cleaning rather than replacing.

Spurlee, Can you explain this procedure in detail? I am having the same issue.
