1999 xk8 with 36,000 miles. How good are the origional brake pads. Should they need replacing yet. I made an appt. To check. Does the age of the pads make a difference and what about the rotors? Thought I'd get your opinion before hearing what the mechanic might say. The car has not been driven hard..........Thanks!

 

I replace my front pads at about 55k miles and it was not an urgent issue. The change was because the rotors were warped enough to need changing. Mine was not driven hard either. Your mileage may vary.
