Tire Brand Suggestions for 1997 XK8

I need to invest in a new set of tires for my 1997 Jaguar XK8 with stock rims. I know the size is 245/50ZR17, but does anyone have any suggestions on the brand and type of tire?

What Marsden is not-so-subtly trying to tell you, is that there are several...ok, many threads where we talked about what tires we were happy with, good value and which ones were not worth the high price. You have alot of good, affordable options based on our members opinions. Good luck with the search! PS, Hancook EVO V12s...on my third set, and I love em. 25-30k per set.

i have been driving jags since 86 (3 v12 xjs and the xk8) i always stuck with pirrelli however, as the car gets older you start to relize that eventually the tires will cost more than the cars worth. i went on line to tire rack.com and purchased the general tire that they offer for my ride i decided to get 5 and replace the spare while i was at it. the tires were around 135.00 each plus around 50-60 bucks shipping (got them in one day) and another 80 bucks to mount and balance the whole job ran a little over 800.00 thats more ike it. the pirrellis were 300.00 each and as far as tread life they suck. i am very pleased with the ride and handling with the generals. give em a try you'll be very happy. good luck steve

I just put Nexen 7000 all season on my '01 with 18" wheels. So far very happy, not very expensive, smooth quiet ride.
