Victory tail lamps from Gaudin

10 Attachment(s)
I ordered the 2006 Victory tail lamp assemblies from Gaudin Jaguar. The nice sales tech called to tell me that they would just be regular 2006 lenses, not the fancy smoked ones. I said to go ahead with the order since I didn't want to bring the smoked ones in from Europe.

I opened the box upon their arrival today... they sure look like smoked Victory tail light lenses to me! =)

My XKR is in Falconworks' Jag shop for the next 1 1/2 to 2 weeks as it gets this work done (currently driving a cheap Chevy SUV rental - NOOOO!):
install OS Giken limited slip differential;
install huge Brembo rotors and calipers;
install blue-tip transmission solenoids from AMG;
install new rear control arm bushing;
install lowering springs;
install new fuel pumps into tank (they've got 153,000 miles on them);
alignment;
install new brake light assemblies.

Here are the part #s for the tail lamp assemblies:
C2N3718
C2N3719

Here's what they look like:

These are the Victory smoked tail light lenses, aren't they?!

YES you DOG!! Those are victory taillights!!!
I've been looking for a pair of those since I bought my car!! Only been able to find one in ruff shape.
I'd KILL for those!!!! Do you know how amazing those would look on my car!! Wonder if they have any more and how much you paid??

Jacsun 07-01-2013 09:45 PM

Those will go great with the silver color. Your car is getting beyond words.

I am glad to hear you are doing all of this. I was worrying that the Falconworks guys might go hungry without some more stuff from you. This should get them through the rest of the year!

(PS-am in middle of replacing my own fuel pump: would have been great to let someone else get the fuel line (and in my case, the return line) off! But the hard part is supposedly done now and I am awaiting parts tomorrow to get it all back together).

Looking forward to the pics and the dual-burnout video. Enjoy! Jac

Aw, YEAH!

$152 per assembly, if I remember correctly. I've got the receipt at my office.

When I opened up the boxes, you should have seen my face!

:icon_dance-twist:

Thanks for the compliments. =)

Philhef, you definitely NEED a pair of these suckers! Your car will look like its goin' 200 sitting in a parking lot. VAROOM!

Jacsun, it will be fun to use that new diffy. The car is a LOT better with the wider new tires, but I can still feel the pull from having a single drive wheel. The guys at Falconworks are back from vacation and ready to ROCK!

I wonder how easy it is to sway the standard tail lights with those tinted ones. I have a 2005 so basic size is the same but is this a 15 minute job or a 15 hour job?

Doug

Seismic, that sounds like a 15 minute job for your car. No major adaptations. My car's going to have to be cut and wired.

15 minutes - less of you don't stop for coffee. :icon_lol:

1. remove the trim panel (unscrew 2 plastic fasteners)

Attachment 46913

2. disconnect the electrical connector

Attachment 46914

3. remove fixing nuts (3 x M6 flange nuts)

Attachment 46915

4. lift off the Rear Light assembly

If I'm not mistaken, these are just special jewel lights. So should be a simple swap for them.

ccfulton 07-02-2013 08:13 AM

On a 2003+ car it is a 15 minute job, plug and play.

On the older cars it's somewhat more complicated. The basic fit is the same but the mounting and wiring is a little different so there is some metal cutting and splicing involved.

Jeff,

Your new taillight assemblies look exactly like the ones on my wife's 2006 XK8 Victory Edition. I had no idea they came in smoked vs. clear. I just assumed they all look like this....

SeismicGuy 07-02-2013 10:42 AM

Agree it SHOULD be a 15 minute job. But my experience is that minutes turn to hours when doing even simple things with these cars due to some stupid clip or tab that breaks or something else that falls apart. Nevertheless I might order a set and try the swap.

I can honestly say taking out the tail lights IS one of the only easy things to do on this car! Had mine out and back in in 10 minutes, including changing the bulbs!

Get 'em while they've got them...

Gaudin is happy to report multiple sales due to this thread. I have no idea how many they have or how long they're available. It seems that the time to order a set is now.

Good folks, good service, fast shipping... rare parts!

ccfulton 07-02-2013 09:24 PM

Pretty sure this thread caused a run on the parts. ;)

I know I had been thinking about it and this make be get off my duff and put the order in.

Yup. I was on the phone first thing yesterday morning with them. Finally ordered them once he verified they would be the right part. He said I was the first to call, and in the time between our call and his getting back to me, three more people contacted.
He said they ordered several sets but as they are limited, re ordering may be sticky since they're all in England. Ad if the UK blokes pick them up too, they could sell out quickly.

When I checked at my local Jaguar Dealer last year, the 'S / Victory' Rear Lamp units were unavailable from Jaguar. As Gaudin has got them in stock, it looks like Jaguar has had another batch produced.

Have to say, I hope these weren't a fluke. With my luck, they'll be the standard jewel tail lights!

That's the only thing that I would be concerned about as well. The original post indicates that the parts guy thought they would not necessarily be the smoked model and it turned out they were. Could be a fluke but if someone else here has ordered already let us know what you get when you receive them.

The older version is listed as: LJE4900AB, LJE4901AB and has a slightly different price.

I am pretty sure that C2N3718, C2N3719 is specifically the P/N for the Victory Edition

Inner panels for brake light conversion

I had forgotten to order the inner panels from Paragon to make the installation easier for my new Victory tail lamp assemblies. Two days ago I sent them an email, paid with a PayPal invoice, then gave them my FedEx account number so that the pricey shipping expense would be on my discounted account.

Presto!

The parts are scheduled to be here on FRIDAY... all the way from the UK to the USA! WAHOOOOO! Perfect timing.

Thank you, Tony from Paragon.

The inner panel parts can be seen at the bottom of this linked page:
