hi im fairly new to this jag forum and found alot of info from the FAQ section on the xk8/xkr area, but im wondering if anyone has pics or a video of someone installing an aftermarket radio into a xkr w/ premium alpine system, because i printed off the wiring diagram last night after looking for hours but none of it has a color coded wire schematics and im not real good at reading of this stuff so if anyone has it, can you send it to my email ambernjames08@comcast.net im better with knowing the color of the wire to splice into rather than a number of the pin location, why does this have to be so complicated that nobody carries a simple plug in harness for these cars. :i con_doh:

 

I am fairly sure you will not find an aftermarket system that plugs into the factory power amp for the premium alpine system. You will need to replace the headunit and power amp at a minimum. If you have the factory nav. option, that will need to be somehow integrated into the new system also. There is more to this than matching up some color coded wires....that is why we are recommending an experienced shop.
