Default what to expect next 2006 XKR

So I had my 2006 XKR with 81,000 miles in for service and I was told I needed new hubs, new Brembo Brakes, an upper control arm, all new shocks, and tires. I knew I was needing tires, this will be my third set and I am not surprised on the brakes as I had them done once. The estimate was about $4,000. I went ahead with the hubs as I was hearing what sounded like something caught underneath the car every once in awhile but have not done the rest yet. Seems everything is more expensive because of the Brembo brakes.
I was wondering what other people have experienced as problems that show up between 80 and 100k miles.

I left something out. The car is not driven much but a couple of times I have had an error message relating to the engine having a lean condition. The fault can be cleared and does not reappear for quite some time but has shown up again on occaision.

If it's a 2006 here in the U.S., it's an X100 and you're in the wrong forum.

If the car sits a lot add fuel stabilizer, as old gas can cause issues. Also change engine oil based on time and not miles driven.

Recurring Lean Condition is probably a slight vacuum leak somewhere. Sometimes easy to find and usually a very easy and cheap fix.

$4000, you would get raped. Take it to a different shop for a Second Opinion.

If your rotors are still ok and not deeply scored, you can just replace the pads without turning or replacing the rotors.

At 13 years old, your XKR probably needs new front and rear suspension bushings, as rubber deteriorates with age.

thanks for the replies, I reposted on the correct forum. I was thinking of trading in the car after getting the estimate but driving it around made me want to keep it. I have not driven it much in the last two years, probably just a couple thousand miles and forgot how much fun this car is, so I appreciate your input.

W, that's an extensive, broad replacement plan. Were you in an accident?

the hub is done, but lets use it as an example. I wonder why they recommended replacement of the entire hub. it's a lot easier to swap in a new hub as a package (new hub Instead of replacing the bearings inside it). But a new upper control arm?

please ask why. The upper control arm has a ball joint and bushings that do wear, but replacing them is a fraction the price of buying a new or refurbished arm. It's not too hard to do as long as the bolt comes out normally.

gosh I don't want to be negative but I've been able to replace the cheaper sub components at that mileage instead of replacing the whole package. Maybe you should ask for the rationale.

hope it helps.

It sounds like he went to a dealer. They sometimes don't rebuild, just replace the whole assembly. I expect the bill at an Indy would have been a lot lower.
