Default clearing ABS codes

I may have an old ABS code sitting in OBD memory due to a bad battery that i replaced a while back. P1000 refuses to change to P1111. My question is will holding the battery terminals together clear ALL old codes and if so, how long do they have to be together?
Thanks

This is because one of the OBD monitors is not reaching completion. You can get an OBD tool to figure out which one. A cheap eBay/Amazon ELM327 would do this. On my car, the components monitor takes for ever to complete. The right answer is to look up the drive cycle and execute all the steps, but most of us just drive around for however long and hope all the steps are eventually hit and the monitors complete. If the monitor does not reach a positive conclusion, then you would get other (standard) OBD codes, specific to the problem.

In other words, I do not believe ABS codes are involved in this P1000/P1111 logic.

Best of luck, keep us posted.

The drive cycle is a pain to complete. Do you need an emissions test soon, or why is this an issue.

A hard reset will not generally clear codes. Not ABS, not (put module name here).

it is not just about distance, you have to drive under a bunch of conditions. I don't have the requirements but at one point I did find them on this forum or via Google.

AFAIK, the drive cycle is standard. Here is one:

Even better: jaguar-drive-cycle

Usually when it takes too long it's due to a problem. If all else fails post which monitors are not happy. And check fuel trims.
