Default What's missing here? - RESOLVED

Ok, base 2005 Jaguar XK8 convertible, 4.2L, Sport button, Anti-Speed button, cruise control but no adaptive cruise, premium sound, and best of all, no error codes. I just pulled the top cover off of the engine today to dust it off for about for the 100th time, (give or take), and only just now noticed that there is a unplugged 2-wire male plug sticking out of the harness on the upper right (passenger) side of the engine and nothing to stick it into. (It was tucked behind the bracket but I moved it to the outside for the photos.) Shouldn't there be a very important receptacle somewhere in the vicinity? Or do most/all XK8 wire harnesses have this plug for some important but unpublished possibility? Is it anything to worry about? Will my gas mileage go down because of this? Can anyone help me track this down? Open to any theory, hypothesis, opinion, fact, or plucked-from-the-air speculation. Thanks in advance...

Plenty of unused plugs exist. Just ignore them. Make sure they can't short out.

I have a plug exactly like that near my throttle body on my XKR; the ends appear to be blanked off with rubber plugs. I believe a few models across Jaguars line up use this 4.2L V8, at least the Rovers do.

Thanks all, those are rubber plugs in the end of the connector, aren't they? It stands to reason that other vehicles using this engine and harness could have different controls or monitors. I can sleep better now...
