What's in the trunk floor

When you open the trunk on my coupe, the centre recess in the floor contains the spare and the right side recess holds the battery. On the left (driver's side) the floor is higher but from underneath it is lower, as if there is a compartment in there. I know that there is one vent/cabin exhaust on the left, in the trunk on the fender side of it but it is a large area with no obvious purpose. (maybe in there is where my rattle is coming from????) Perhaps that's the rattle storage area? (Thought I'd better say it first.):icon_wink:

Anyone know what it contains?

:icon_denk:I actually have a rattle stored in the same area. You may be on to something.

Ah, sweet mystery! I haven't a rattle, but the thought of a secret compartment in one of these is delicious! More please.. DaleD:icon_wink:

Accelerometers?

The XKR uses accelerometers to help control the CATS Shocks. The rear unit is a Vertical Accelerometer located in the "Trunk, below Fuel Tank". Don't know if this is in the location that you are describing.

Well it's close Paul. The area I'm referring to is the depth of the spare wheel well and about 8" wide. The top of it forms the upper right area of the trunk floor. If you go under the car and look up that area is fully occupied, perhaps with the indicated sensors. Your suggestion now gives me something to search for. Thanks.
