Wheels bent need advice

Three of my rims are bent and need to be replaced ASAP. I've been doing a lot of research online and most people make it sound like anything under $4000(USD) is junk. Just for everyday use how true is a statement like that really? I'm looking to spend no more than $1500 and found a nice set of 19x9.5 Vertini RF1.1's. Thier apparently rotary forged. I photoshopped a picture of them, any thoughts/suggestions?

those look nice - but you will need to make sure you won't need spacers, bolt spacing is correct and they should be hub-centric. Are you looking to spend 1500 on just rims or rims and tires?

What size do you have on there now? If you are running OEM 17's, you may experience degradation in ride quality by going with the 19's.

Have you looked at the Coventry rims - specifically made for Jaguars? Coventry Whitley's are a nice choice or the Hornet's which are a little more aggressive.

When I replaced my rims, I got rims and tires for a little over $1600

Are they that bad that they can't be fixed?

I was also going to ask the same thing. I had a BMW once-upon-a-time (dumb me) that had four nice BBS alloy wheels. I had a mishap that ended up bending 3 of the wheels to various extents. One of the wheels just had a minor bend in the rim while the worst wheel had bends further in. The insurance company replaced the wheels but, out of curiosity, I brought the old wheels to a local highly recommended wheel repair place. He looked and said no big deal. I paid to have him repair the wheels and I kept these as spares for no particular reason and ended up giving them to the person who bought my car a few years later.

I think those wheel repair shops can work miracles with most minor to moderately damaged alloy wheels.

My European car shop gave me a card to a local guy that has a mobile shop in which he can use to come and fix your wheels at your home or while you are at work. They said he can even get out light curb rash on my chrome rims.

I have considered having them repaired but I don't know of anyone by me who does that type of work. And as said above I actually have looked at the Whitleys in hyper silver and am still considering them as well mainly because they specialize in Jags...that and the fact they look almost identical to my current wheels.

The hyper silver Whitley's were what I ordered but due to a painful purchase experience, the vendor upgraded them to chrome at their cost

Pretty sure I'm just going to go for the Whitley's too. How are they holding up for you?

I recently changes to TSW Bathurst rims, rotary forged very light, They come in the proper bolt pattern and I need a small concentric ring which was provided with rims. I went with Front -19/8.5" 255/40/19 Rear - R19/9.5" 275/35/19. I do need to work on getting Jag centercaps updated, still thinking about it.

I've had them 8 months now and holding up quite well.

Those are some sweet looking wheels, I just ordered the Whitley's in hyper silver last night. If I understand right the company their made by is by TSW

sklimii Mar 4, 2016 11:11 AM

yes Coventry's are made by TSW. Did you go with the 19's?

Yep, yeah 19x9.5. Same as the old ones, my tires are around 80% tread life so I won't have to spend the extra money getting different size tires.

Depending on how they got bent (NJ potholes?), be sure and have the tires checked out. They could be damaged as well. You don't want them coming apart at speed.
