I've been going through withdrawals this week as my car's been in the detail shop getting a good going over!! We had his dent man in to do his best, and then a four step compound and polish with a paint sealer to finish.
I stopped by this morning to drop off a trim piece I had painted and literally stopped dead in my tracks!!
He had the front done and it was as if I was looking at it in the dealer showroom. I NEVER thought he could transform my car's finish to this level. He's been using it to photograph for his before and after for his new website. I tried to get photos but they just didnt read as well as in person. And he guarantees it for two years!! I have no idea what he uses and I've used several other detail shops in the past but none have ever done this quality of work. And a black car is the hardest! Oh, and not a faint memory of any dents!!
He said his last step before sealing is some special polish made from real pearl dust. ?????? Whatever it is, it's genius!! All for about 200.00
Now I know I made the right decision ordering new custom leather and suede seat skins!!
I'm going to try to scope out the brands of polish he uses and I'll post if I can get them. 5:00 tomorrow can't come soon enough!!!!! (Pick up time!)

 

Pictures, or it didn't happen

 

They're coming! He's going to email some to me since all of mine didn't show the difference. The darn hanger he works in is so well lit that even a bad paint job looks great! In person it's easy to see.
Just try to photograph a black car in an all white room!! He's using a real digital camera and I'm just using my iPhone.

yep!! But seriously detailing is an amazing process - I detailed mine over 3 days a few months back and was shocked at how well it looked and there was still room for improvement on mine. I can only imagine on the black beast - the paint/finish on yours looks pretty damn good to start. Post them pics will ya!!!

Finally!! It's like a mirror!! Unfortunately the dent specialist won't be back until next Thursday so back it goes!! Family emergency. Ugh
