Default Inside and XKRSS

Photos of the inside of my Blue XKR 2001, the only non-original thing about it and an XKSS from a Jag Driving day last week... Just had to share;

Inside of my XKR 2001 - inside color trying to match the outside.

and the XKSS

Full restore in Jag Factory in UK. 30 miles since restore. Still dropping oil and trans fluid on the mirror display lol.

Default Worcester XK8

New addition to family. Keep this cub healthy hopefully to mature into a pristine Jaguar.
Stripes though? Not sure yet....

They tried to fix it in the 2007 but they need to continue as it's still not there yet! You can't have a 4 Seated Sports Car..............Just doesn't work that way!!!

you know i LOVE XKR, but once you sit in an Aston, with the hand-stitched leather that is a million times nicer than Jaguar...well,,,there is no comparison!

But AM has a slew of other problems, the more I research it, the more I think I may be in the market for another XKR instead. a Convertible this time!!!

My brother-in-law acquired a 2013 Aston Martin as a toy a year or so ago. He pays a local-to-him indie shop to care for it, and he spends a fortune compared to what most of us spend to DIY our own XK8/XKR maintenance and repairs. He pays the same indie shop to care for his other toy, a 1986 Ferrari 328 GT that he has owned since new. You should see the maintenance and repair bills that thing has run up over the decades, and the car still has less than 30,000 miles on it....

Regarding your XKR / Aston Martin dilemma, it all comes down to how much you are willing to spend to keep either vehicle in top running condition. An Aston Martin will bleed you dry, while an XKR is much less likely to do so....

Good luck either way....

Jon
Speaking as someone who knows nothing about the Aston, your comments ring TRUE. In 2012, I took a 2000 Lexus I owned into a shop that specialized in servicing quality cars as I had a problem for which I had, to that point, been unable to get an accurate diagnosis. I walked in and there was a Ferrari sitting there and I jokingly said, "Will that be my loaner car?" He said "Of course," smiling. So, among other things we talked about the Ferrari and he said that the owner doesn't drive it enough and so the sitting fuel messes up the injection system and to that date he has twice had to take the system all apart and "clean" it. He told me what that cost but I have since forgotten. However, I don't think that I have spent that much in total, on the two Jags that I have owned in the last two years. Too rich for my blood. Winter seems to have arrived in Georgia, just finished replacing fuel pumps and refurbing rear suspension with Powerflex bushes and H&R springs, very pleased with the new stance!

Thanksgiving Day, looking good, low and lean!

Hello, akka.
Pardon my ignorance here, but can you help me with the 'Shocking Blue'(I'm Your Venus). Sorry. I had to say that. Blue filter? Blue light? Secret button on the camera? Non-original indeed. I like it.

Its a set of LED lights in blue. Full replacement. The ones under the dash needed a bit of work but otherwise fairly easy.

The outside has just had a clean so.. time to post.

Just picked up my coupe last night, still needs a few adjustments, but here it is.
It was Platinum Silver, with Hyper Silver Detroits. but I was in a mood for big change...

smoked fog lights and side markers. Matte black over chrome grill, and matte black bottom air vent

the color is Gloss Glacier Grey by 3M 1080<br/>It is color change, meaning the front end of the car is in the shade, and appears as a glossy greyish blue black. When the sun hits it, it is metallic as seen on the boot area. BBS wheels are gloss metallic graphite grey, Brembos are metallic purple.

Brembos for a shot of color

Default New Look

Like the new look. Color is really unique. It definitely will pull allot of eyeballs on the freeways. Could be your own "Sig Alert"

Happy Holidays.

Looking forward to it, but I must confess that my car is looking kinda naked without a cool glacier wrap.
