Came across this 1997 X100 XK8 which has had a 'X150 facelift'.

Just needs a bit of tidying :)

1 day left and current bidding is at less than £1500.

Any nagging doubts why anyone wouldn't finish a project like that .................?

My thoughts as well Graham.

If indeed the owner is a body guy as he states, doesn't look like that much more time and effort to finish the project.

To bad he also doesn't realise that it would take less than an hour to fill the gearbox up from start to finish.

I'm guessing the gearbox is US and that's why it's spares or repair ,

PS Looks like a Paragon body kit??

If it was an R, I'd be on it like a car bonnet.

Wonder if XKRacer's seen it? Maybe interesting to him as a project....

Just took a look, they definitely have gone to a lot of trouble, it is not one of my kits and you will need to fill in the back bumper, there is a big gap between the exhaust pipes.....

They have kept the original grille opening and used the X150 bottom half, I do mine different as in the pic below, my main problem would be the fact they have grafted plastic to metal and to other bumpers, probably quite thick filler which could be prone to cracking

Still might be a bargain for someone though

Wow there are a ton of them on ebay.uk for a song.

High miles typically, but then they're well over 10 years old.

Looks like they got the signal repeaters over there before we did (this is a 1997)...

Frog 01-31-2013 12:17 AM

Yes, prices are low, but they are higher than two years ago when I bought mine. Up about 10-15%, I would say. Sign of a future classic?

XKRacer 01-31-2013 03:30 AM

There was 2 XK8s coupes identicle to each other going for £3500...... and that is for BOTH cars not each!!!

They'll bottom out at some point if they haven't already. There's nothing to prevent the XK8/XKR from becoming a future classic and it has all the ingredients in place. As much as I admire the design of the E-Type, I find these cars to be considerably more desirable.

Madness!

*starts looking for a coupe... Pippa*
