XK8 Milage Question

I have a 2000 XK8 with 68,000 miles on it. The instrument cluster is bad, and I've since purchased 2 others. One has 200,000 miles and the other 88,000 miles. I believe the mileage is actually stored on the cluster itself. Does anyone know which chip it is on?
I read an article a while ago talking about changing or reprogramming the chip to reflect the correct mileage, but I can't seem to find it now.
Much Thanks,

erjent

Bit of a waste of time to change the milage ...why not just photo the old and the new and on resale you have proof of the speedo change.
I am not sure if speedos can be changed due to an embedded code linked to the ECU

Are you concerned with the resale value ? If that’s the case, my feeling is you will not see any difference between the value of a 68,000 mile car and one with 88,000 miles.

Take the photos as mentioned by the previous poster ( @Pistnbroke ) and just move forward.

This video shows that it is possible to clone one instrument cluster onto another, preserving the original mileage. I can't remember if they show where the mileage is stored, but IIRC that can also be adjusted:-

This isn't a DIY process though.

My speedometer and odometer stopped working.

What exactly are you asking? Do you have a cluster fault?

I replied because your question had nothing to do with the thread, and therefore required more information? You can't expect people to guess what you're talking about.

Your best bet is to start a new thread, explain exactly what problems you are having and for how long, post your codes and I'm sure you will get some help. Tacking your question on to someone else's thread, which is about a different problem on a different car is just confusing.
