Xk8 vaccume pod
 

My vacuum hose that sits on top of my vacuum pod, the hose connector became brittle and broke off. I managed to remove the broken end out of the elbow but now I can't seem to remove the broken end possibly glued in place in the vacuum pod.

Can I get a small bit and just remove it? Downside of this and if debris is left in the chamber?

Please all recommendations welcome.

Jaguar issued a TSB a few decades ago when I worked at the dealer but I never saw a broken vacuum actuator 'stub-pipe'.

We were warned about warranty denial and to be careful disconnecting the vacuum pipe.

I would remove the throttle assy and drill it INVERTED to lessen the possibility of debris entering the actuator.
A small brass piece of pipe epoxied to the hole would work or a small threaded fitting tapped to the plastic hole?

Use your imagination and get it fixed.

Here is my next question……if I left that sucker just rest on top of the vacuum pod…will it affect anything? Or If I drilled it out as best as I could, would the minor plastic debris （I would try and suck up with a cordless mini vac as much as I could while I was drilling）, would the debris in the chamber cause any issues?

The actuator is for the Automatic Speed Control, (aka Cruise Control)

'Plugging' the pipe/hose will keep vacuum in the reservoir and prevent an AIR LEAK and debris from entering the intake system.

If you don't use the speed control, then it is not required.
If you drill it, use a little grease on the bit to capture the plastic bits, wipe often and drill SLOW.(and shallow)

You are the man!!! I did exactly what you did, got the stub out and purchased a small plastic hose connector and stuck it right back in. Should not have to mess with it for a few years again.
