Default XKR 1999 Rear windows

Having spent the day replacing my hydraulic hoses, the convertible now works beautifully. Thanks Gus and others for all the really helpful threads. Not a difficult job, but quite lengthy. I'd recommend anyone to have a go. I found nearly a tenner of change under the seats !

Minor problem in that the rear quarter windows don't drop. Just run out of daylight, so haven't started on the electric/fuse route yet. Everything else works as it should. Any idea where I should start looking please ?

Default Qtr Window Operation

bumper;
The qtr window motors get their power from the Convertible Top Control Portion of the Body Processor Module after having gone through the relays to activate the motors for the qtr. windows. Each qtr. window has 2 relays, one each for down operation and one each for up operation. The relays are fused in the trunk fuse box panel. Fuse #1 is a 5amp fuse; fuse #12 is a 20 amp fuse; fuse #20 is a 20 amp fuse. The #12 fuse shares the right qtr. window for up/down and #20 shares the left hand qtr. window for up/down. I would be inclined to start there for checking power.

Try running a few top cycles first, and a hard reset if the cycles do not work before you get into heavy duty troubleshooting.

Look and see if you managed to disconnect the two leads on the right ram when you installed the new hoses. If the leads are on then try the hard reset.

Cool

Thanks to all. Whilst speaking to the previous owner, I found the four small micro relays and the 20 amp fuse had been removed by him, to prevent damage to the seals when the roof wasn't working correctly. The micro relays are very hard to spot, but everything works well now. Just need more excuses to enjoy roof down motoring.
