XKR sold. Au revoir, everyone :)

Well, I found a buyer for my car. He's coming to collect tomorrow from 350 miles away.

For information, I paid $21,000 for my XKR 3 years ago, spent about $6,000 on it in total, including light restoration, maintenance, tyres, insurance and fuel. Sold it for $28,000.

An appreciating classic?

Anyhow, thanks again for all the invaluable help I have received from this amazing forum. I would never have dared buy a Jaguar without you, as dealers are very few and far between here in France, so I'm pretty much on my own.

I am not intending replacing the Jag for a while, but as you know, I have always lusted after an Aston, or possibly an X150 XKR...

Don't tell the wife ;)

One last time:

She's a beauty!!
You'll be back.

It's nice that you came out a little ahead for the whole experience.

Good luck finding (and convincing the wife) with that Aston. ;)

Take care, and don't be a stranger.

Beautiful car Frog, hope she went to someone who will love and appreciate her.

Wish you well for the future and hope to see you around from time to time, you're always welcome as you know

Best

Jim

A lucky new owner for sure, you know where we are!

I may be a bit biased (my coupe is the same color as yours), but I must say - that is one beautiful piece of machinery. Enjoyed your numerous contributions, since joining the forum.
Be well Mr. Frog

Au revoir, Frog. We'll miss you and that beautiful coupe.

And yes, we'll miss your lawn.

'tis a sad day for the forum. Know that you are always welcome to stop by and certainly send pictures of that Aston Martin should you manage to convince the wife.

Bon Voyage.

Thanks Frog for always providing a steady supply of cool pictures to make some of us just a bit green with envy.;)

Don't be a stranger here.

Cheers

Don't forget to tell the buyer about Jaguar Forums.

Not that he/she will have any problems. :icon_lol:

Indeed, hope the buyer shows back up with her on here. That car is too gorgeous to never again be seen! It continues to be an inspiration, and I want to sell mine for a coupe and Sepangs every time I see it.

Bon Voyage, Mr. Frog- and very well done on the relative investment you made with it!

such a lovely car, I hope you did a background check to make sure she is going to a good home

Thanks for your good wishes :)

The XKR drove off into the sunset this afternoon. The guy who bought it was very enthusiastic and paid in full without even taking it for a test drive first. I Google-Earthed his home address and it looked acceptable ;)

I have ordered a VW Up! (not sold in the US) to be delivered in a couple of weeks. Talk about downsizing :D

Well, that will feel a bit different!

The appearance alone would be more than sufficient. No further test necessary.

Jon89 10-26-2013 02:05 PM

Best wishes to you....

By the way, will that VW Up be capable of more than 40 mph?!
