You did remember road hazard with those new treads?
Just a little something my wife picked up on the way to the bank. It went T H R U the center tread. the whole thing was inside the tire. I'm so glad about two three things.
1. She was only going 25 mph when the tire let go.
2. I did have road hazard on the tires.
3. That my Jaguar has a full size spare, and the rim matches.

I opted not to purchase the road hazard insurance and now I have a tire that I have plugged because the nail poked through way over on the edge of the tread. It only has about 10,000 miles on it. I'm going to get it replaced soon, but it's going to cost me about $300. Makes me wish I bought the insurance.

Well Skid Mark, the car came that way. The full size unit fits under the false bottom along side the battery. I just assumed that all Jags had full size spares. I surley do not have something special. Although I was told the the car began life as a Ford executives daily driver in Detroit.
Maybe I got the " special " option and did not know it.
As far as run flats go a quick story. My son had them on his mini. On the way back to college he could not miss a pot hole and blew a 1" chunk out of the side wall. The car troopered on for another hour. It was only when he got to school that he checked to see the damage. So they do work. But man are they expensive and have a limited variety of options. But in this case running 70 mph and blowing out the front rh tire and not know it. Counting myself lucky that nothing happened to him.
