Default You guys are great (other forums, not so great)

I'm blown away by all of the awesome, money-saving advice I've gotten on here. By comparison, I was thinking about buying a Saab 9-3 the other day, so I went to a Saab forum to do some research and ask some questions. The car seemed like an awesome deal, but it had three issues: it had a traction control light on, the pixels in the radio were messed up, and the steering wheel made a weird sound. I got 8 or so replies over 24 hours, but not a single reply addressed any of my questions. And one of them was a guy trying to sell me his 9-3! Most of the replies were just people telling me that the 2003 9-3 was the first year of that body style and it had some issues. Well NO $#!+!!! That's why I'm asking the questions!

This forum is very well run and the members have mountains of knowledge that they're eager to share. Thanks everyone!

appreciate that Rev, its nice to hear some comparisons with other forums, sometimes I think they all are as well run and 'substantial' as ours.

Kudos to the great membership we have that makes it possible and the guys that watch over it.

Sam, we try to make people feel at home and make it more than just a place to learn about your car. We like to have fun too. So, sit back and enjoy.

I also see that you have an Expedition. If you ever have any issues with that, let me know. I have a 1997 Expedition that I have been the only owner. Needless to say, the truck isn't stock any more (4" lift, 37" tires, motor mods, etc). I can help you with that truck too. If you are familiar with either FTW or VFO, then you will probably recognize my screen name.

I second the Rev's motion! This site is a gold mine of knowledge with very courteous and helpful members.

I'd logged on to a Mercedes site (same exact format, same owners?) to help a friend find an answer to his problem with an E class. I didn't ax the question, "why would his transmission lock up in high gear and only go back to normal after he'd shut the car off and restarted?" but I couldn't find much of anything in the way of the kind of mechanical expertise this Jaguar group of people offer so I didn't bother to sign up for the day.

This is a unique site and it's the members and mods that make it enjoyable and useful. Now excuse me but I've got to go apologize to a member I've offended by suggesting that in a manner of speaking he put an ***-tat on a beautiful woman.

Good to see some positive feedback Sam. You are right, the great members we have here make this one of the best forums around.

Thanks to one and all.

I don't post here that often but do visit and read the posts every couple of days. I like to answer questions when I can, but most of the time someone more knowledgable than me already has. This is a great resource for XK owners, kudos to the mods and forum owners.

Thanks,
Wheeble

I agree a thousand percent. This is easily one of the best forums to be on. Thank god for that 'cause jaguar ownership is some of the most trying car ownership around

YUP, yup and yup! Without this forum I'd be selling my car. It's been a sweetie so far but I'm prepared with all the back-up that's here. Thanks guys.
