Hi Chris, Do you farmers in the Wiakato still drink your beer warm and flat(lol).
That's how I remember it from the early 80's visiting friends at the Wiakato University.
Mind you, they were too poor to have a beer fridge.

You are not wrong,Pukekohe to Hamilton is 1 hour, I've got to drive 1.5- 2 hours to see a decent beach.(grew up at Mt Maunganui so I miss the beach)

Well I can't speak for the farmers but some of us have slightly more sophisticated taste !!! I do live on the same road as the old Waikato Brewery tho...

I am familiar with area because my Dad drove the truck that delivered the beer from the brewery to Rotorua and Tauranga, I had daily trips over the Kaimai ranges in the school holidays.

Sounds like a plan Chris. If you're coming up this way drop me a line. Would love to see your car and chat over a beer.

Hi guys, I posted in the newbie section a few weeks back. Royce in Auckland with a freshly imported 2006 xj8. Loving the drive at present, popped a few cds in the boot thingy, and ignore the japanese talk and radio settings. The numbers come up okay but japanese script is illegible. Ive looked thru the posts on navigation, and how to convert the language, but am happy to wait awhile. Not too bad on the gas either, 24 to 28 mpg so far!! Cheers and hope to meet a few enthusiasts in the Auckland area. Cheers.
