I'm really not one to bad-mouth anyone, but I had a pretty negative experience with Momentum's parts department today, looking for more ZF LG6 for my S-type.
When I called, and asked quite plainly, that I was looking for two liters of ZF LifeGuard6, I had to repeatedly ask for the (what I believe to be) VERY specific item - the guy on the phone kept wanting to know what vehicle, what year, etc.
When I ask for something specific like that, that you should have in stock, either in bulk, or by the liter, I found it quite annoying to have to take the time to explain the why, when, where and how of what I wanted. Finally, he said yes, we have it per-liter, great.
I get there, and we go through the same entire mess AGAIN, face-to-face, and he brings me Mobil ATF1, which is not what I asked for, and when queried about it, he said "this is what they put in the transmission in your car".
I explained politely that no, that is not what is in my car, and his response was (in a rather petulant, and frankly, pissy demeanor, mind you) "well, what's in it is the wrong fluid".
Again, I calmly explained to him that no, Mobil ATF1 is not what I have, nor had in the car, and that ZF is extremely specific on what to use. Regardless of what anyone says that I have read, whether Mobil ATF1 is -equivalent- to LifeGuard6, I refuse to mix the two.
Again, the attitude continued, and the second round of fluid was brought out, which was again, a Mobil fluid, and was not what I asked for, nor need. At this point, perhaps I was a little agitated, because I expected the dealership, especially one doing as much service as they do, to have and use actual recommended fluids, and for the fact that they wanted to charge me $775.00 worth of parts to do the transmission service, the fluid I would expect to be, for the cost, ZF LifeGuard 6, not the less-costly, slap-a-Jaguar-sticker-on-it Mobil ATF1.
Needless to say, I left with nothing in hand, because of my own personal conviction that I refuse to mix fluids, especially given the replacement cost of the 6HP26. One thing I will note, is that due to this experience, and the absolutely unflattering attitude and demeanor that I was shown by this unfortunate encounter, I am going to ensure that I never have to deal with Momentum again, in any regard.
While this isn't the first time I've had an encounter like this with Momentum, it certainly will be my last - it's just unfortunate that Autohaus K&H isn't open on the weekends, I would have rather dealt with Markus, he and his team over in Midtown are excellent, swift, and helpful, unlike the people at Momentum.
I'm sure that there are people at Momentum (like Brutal) who may chime in on this, but suffice it to say, I maintain my opinion.
Cheers, and happy motoring!

Any Techs Around the OKC / Norman / Moore area? Need Trans Fluid Level Checked
I'm coming to the OKC area to do some much needed repairs on my sisters Saturn. I need my trans fluid level checked in my 04 XJ8. I had it flushed at a local shop that swore they have done these cars before. Now when starting from cold, the transmission whines, and I have noticed erratic shifts on occasions. The fluid used was Castrol Multi Import Fluid. I researched this forum and found no one with ill effects from using this fluid. I would like my fluid level checked / filled as I'm sure it is low, or if possible a proper flush. My cell is 217-264-6683. I'll arrive in OKC around 4:30PM today. Text prefered, if you call please leave a msg. Thanks for your time

Phoenix/Scottsdale area
There's are only 2 Jag specialists I would take my Jag in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, both have seriously high levels of knowledge and do amazing quality work, yet remain affordable. (None of that is true of the Jag dealer in N. Scottsdale).
1) British Auto in Scottsdale.
2) Dave's Import Service in Phoenix.
Daves Import Service
I'm surprised that no one has already mentioned him yet.
I've also heard good things about Sports & Collector Car Center in Tempe but can't recommend them personally, only because I haven't used them yet because they aren't as near to me.

Richzak, when I lived in El Paso we had good luck with Jaguar of El Paso, but it has been a few years so things have probably changed quite a bit. They were located on the west side when I was last there which would have been more convenient for you but now it looks like they are near the airport, The only other Jag dealer I have any knowledge of was Albuquerque, and they did have a really great tech named Bruce, but that's been almost as far back as my El Paso experience so he may have retired by now.
For those in the DFW area, I am now taking the girls to Park Place Jaguar in Plano, my Service Adviser is named Bob, and he has taken excellent care of my cars, especially considering they are not as young as most of the vehicles they service. They have even gone out of their way with some of the issues I've had so I'm a diehard fan.

Same Experience
This looked like as good of place as any to report an excellent experience I hadSaturday at Momentum Jaguar in SW Houston, because of Bill (known as BRUTAL on the forum). He took time out of his day and other work he had going to diagnose an ongoing issue with my '01 XJR. Having been in the car business for years, I've known a lot of techs, and Bill strikes me as an extremely knowledgeable tech. Beyond that, he's very personable, and will explain what is going on - something you rarely find in a good tech! Of course, most techs don't spend time on a forum helping others with their cars in their off time, either.
After just one trip to have Bill look at my car, I feel fully confident in dropping my car off at Momentum Jaguar and requesting Bill as my tech. I know I will be treated fairly, and will have the work done right. If you're in the Houston area, I highly recommendBill as your one-stop shop!

I will absolutely request Bill to service my XK from now on.

I have given praise for my service advisor here in Ft Worth, but since this thread is specifically for good techs in the SW region, I will tell you that Autobahn Jaguar, and Lee Letts have been more than fair to me over the last 2 years. Alot of stuff is fixed under warranty, and he is great about communicating thru emails on how the repairs are going. Lee was a mechanic that got promoted to service advisor, and well deserved.

I only recently started surfing the directional forums, here, having devoted most of my time to the X200/X300 sections with occasional forays into the Off-topic.
Can't believe no one has mentioned Motorcarman. He is undoubtedly the go-to guy in the DFW area for your out-of-warranty Jaguar needs. Formerly a tech at Autobahn Jaguar for a number of years before opening his shop a bit NW of Fort Worth. I found him on the recommendation of Jose` (and Clarence) at the parts counter at AutoBahn, same way I discovered the forum. Both discoveries have saved me untold amounts of $$.
